HotLanta Overdrive – Limited Edition
The HotLanta Limited Edition is an evolution of our flagship HotLanta Overdrive. By increasing the gain just enough and incorporating germanium into the overall design, we were able to push the circuit further while preserving the amplifier-based foundation that defines the original HotLanta.
The result is a pedal with greater harmonic bloom, increased sustain, and enhanced articulation, especially at lower volume levels. The Limited Edition makes it easier to achieve thick, searing lead tones and saturated rhythm sounds while still retaining clarity and control.
More Gain, More Bloom, Same Amplifier Foundation
The Limited Edition retains the same amplifier-derived architecture as the original HotLanta, but with added gain and germanium coloration. Chords bloom more fully, single notes sustain longer, and the overall response feels larger and more dimensional under the fingers.
This version excels when paired with clean or high-headroom amplifiers, allowing you to keep the amp clean while the pedal supplies the saturation, compression, and harmonic complexity of a cranked amp — and then some.
Germanium-Enhanced Saturation
The addition of germanium brings a warmer, more vintage coloration to the tone, along with a subtle sizzle on individual notes. Harmonics are more pronounced but remain natural and musical, adding depth without harshness.
As with the original HotLanta, the pedal cleans up smoothly with your guitar’s volume knob and transitions naturally into tube-like compression as you roll the volume up. The harder you play, the more the notes bloom and swell, with sustain that is noticeably increased in the Limited Edition.
Dual Drive for Expanded Gain
The HotLanta Limited Edition features a dual-drive design, giving you access to an additional gain stage when you need more saturation. This makes it easy to achieve the thick crunch tones associated with classic ’70s and ’80s rock without stacking multiple pedals.
The second gain stage can be used as a boost for solos or left engaged at all times and controlled directly from your guitar’s volume knob, allowing for smooth transitions between rhythm and lead tones.
Voice Control and Speaker Character
The Voice control allows you to shape the upper response and overall character of the pedal. Higher settings introduce crisp, open highs reminiscent of classic JBL-style speakers, while lower settings emphasize a fuller lower-midrange similar to vintage Celestion drivers.
Across the range, the balance remains controlled and musical, making it easy to dial in tones that sit naturally in a mix.
