The Mason Dixon EXT 2×12 Cabinet is open back extension cabinet, utilizing tung and groove Baltic Birch construction and delivers the bass, mid response and great sound you would expect from a 2×12” cab. What you wouldn’t expect is how Big this 2×12” sounds!

JBL D120 HYBRID OPTION.

At the heart of the cab is the HYBRID JBL D120 Speakers . The JBL D120 sound has been captured on many famous recordings from a diverse range of notable players. It features enormously detailed and complex overtones, a warm low-end, a famously rich vocal mid-range and a beautifully detailed top-end.

The Hybrid speaker captures that JBL D120 midrange and punch. The speaker starts with a Peavey Black Widow and 4-inch voice coil and we recone them with exact JBL D120 parts for a much better-voiced speaker. Better bottom-end clarity than original JBL D120’s. And they are 15% louder than and original D Series speaker at lower volumes. A perfect match!

As with all Mason Dixon cabinets, oversized 12-gauge speaker wire is soldered between the speaker and terminal, assuring you to get every ounce of valuable tone. The Mason Dixon EXT 2×12 is handcrafted with pride in the U.S.A. and designed to withstand the road.

JBL D 120 Speaker Upgrade Option

All of our models are available for a Vintage JBL D120 Speaker Upgrade just like Duane & Dickey used. These speakers have been reconed with a true paper to the edge D120 Kit for the exact tone.
