This represents the first time anyone has offered a handwired amp based upon what made Legendary Players like Duane and Betts Famous. And the Tones don't stop there. Like the amps used on those special nights of recording, this new handwired amp shares the simplicity of operation and natural valve tones along with the correct modifications that make it stand out as one of the most iconic amp tones of all time.

The FE 44 Combo Amp

The FE Series delivers a roaring 44 watts of legendary Fillmore East-inspired tone, built around a handwired point-to-point circuit and housed in a rugged aluminum chassis. Designed for players chasing rich harmonic detail, blooming sustain, and dynamic touch response, the FE Series features a dual-channel design powered by a combination of 12AX7 and EF86 preamp tubes.

Depending on the model configuration, the power section can be equipped with classic KT66 tubes, but one of our favorite options is the custom mixed-tube configuration pairing a single KT66 with a KT77. The result is an incredibly rich, buttery midrange with enhanced harmonic complexity, tighter low end, and sustain that seems to hang in the air forever.

This unique tube combination adds a vocal quality to the amp that responds beautifully to both vintage-style cleans and saturated lead tones. For players seeking something beyond the ordinary, the optional KT66/KT77 pairing creates a feel and texture that is simply addictive.

As the output and mains transformers are vital components in any amplifier as they influence performance, sound, we added beefier transformers to increase headroom and stability. The amp uses tube rectification and is built like a tank.

Duane and Dickey Both used a combination of Modified Marshall amps as well as Fender amps to create those magical tones. We have now combined the best of both into one amp. The correct post Master volume allows you to dial in from bedroom levels to club level. Perfect for any Gig or recording.

Selectable Tone Stacks:

The Duane setting delivers the exact tone and response heard at the Fillmore East, based on the same modifications made to his amps for that performance.

The Dickey setting ranges from clean headroom to rich drive and sustain, capturing his Fillmore-era sound as well as the more modern tones from his later rigs.

The remaining positions expand the tonal range with Blackface Fender and Hendrix style tone stacks, along with carefully voiced in-between settings, allowing you to smoothly transition between classic circuits and dial in your own signature tone.

The HYBRID Speaker Design

A contributing sonic factor in the amplifier is the way the sound of the Hybrid speaker captures that JBL D120 midrange and punch. The speaker starts with a Peavey Black Widow and 4-inch voice coil and we recone them with exact JBL D120 parts for a much better-voiced speaker. Better bottom-end clarity than original JBL D120’s. JBL D 120 Speaker Upgrade Option

Optional Spring Reverb

Both models are available with true spring reverb. Reverb can be a really powerful musical spice. Most recordings include some kind of reverb to create dimension and space. Part of the Magic for the Fillmore Recordings was the Fillmore room itself. Whether you are playing a small gig or jamming at home or even the large venues, having onboard reverb adds to your overall tone.
