FREEBIRD — HotLanta + Anthem Overdrive
Two legendary Southern rock sounds. Two of our most distinctive overdrives. Together for the first time.Meet FREEBIRD—our latest Custom Shop creation, inspired by the unforgettable guitar sounds of the Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Some players wanted the rich, soaring amplifier tones of our HotLanta Overdrive. Others wanted the unmistakable drive and character of our Anthem. And plenty of players wanted both.So we brought two worlds of Southern rock together in one pedal.
From the legendary Fillmore East performances to the early recordings born at Skynyrd's Hell House, FREEBIRD celebrates the guitar tones that helped define a generation of Southern rock.Start with the HotLanta. Bring in the Anthem. Or let either one take the lead.
The HotLanta Overdrive
Inspired by the legendary guitar tones of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, HotLanta was developed from our Mason-Dixon Fillmore East Edition amplifiers.
Unlike a traditional overdrive, HotLanta recreates the gain structure, natural compression, and harmonic response of an amplifier pushed wide open.
From soaring slide sustain to articulate, singing leads, notes bloom with rich harmonics and natural compression. Its dynamic response follows your picking hand and guitar volume, delivering the character of a cranked amplifier even through clean, high-headroom rigs.
The Anthem
Inspired by the distinctive guitar sounds of Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Ed King, and Steve Gaines, Anthem captures the dynamic, touch-sensitive overdrive associated with Lynyrd Skynyrd's classic recordings.
Its three-position voicing switch brings three distinct tonal characters to your fingertips—from warm, muscular overdrive to biting, articulate leads and singing sustain.
Dedicated Volume, Gain, Tone, and Voice controls let you shape everything from cleaner, expressive passages to the aggressive drive and sustain of classic Southern rock.
Two different approaches to legendary guitar tone. One pedal built for players who wanted both.

The Story Behind the Name
Ronnie Van Zant famously dedicated Free Bird
in concert to Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. That enduring connection between two legendary Southern rock bands makes FREEBIRD a fitting name for a pedal that brings their musical influences together.
